Surround Yourself With Good People

November 4, 2020 - LISTEN HERE

Exodus 18:17-23

Moses FIL was concerned that Moses was doing too much and was going to wear himself out. He gave him good advice...good advice for our President.

Now listen to me; I will give you some advice, and God be with you. You be the one to represent the people before God and bring their cases to Him. Pick a few good men; Instruct them about the statutes and laws, and teach them the way to live and what they must do. But you should select from all the people able men, God-fearing, trustworthy, and hating bribes. Place them over the people as commanders. They should judge the people at all times. Then they can bring you every important case but judge every minor case themselves. In this way, you will lighten your load, and they will bear it with you. If you do this, and God so directs you, you will be able to endure, and also all these people will be able to go home satisfied.

By the time of Happy Hour tonight, most of us have voted and we are now awaiting the anticipated outcome of this difficult election season, I pray that we have selected able, God-fearing, trustworthy men who hate bribes...in other words, those that Hate the Swamp.

I pray that God will have mercy and show grace and forgiveness to our country...and that by January, we will still be the United States of America

Today’s Prayer
Jesus has been the cornerstone of our foundation. The Lord isn’t through with our country yet. It looks dark, it looks hard. Jesus gives us hope that does not disappoint. We cling tenaciously to that hope because it’s real. It’s not a pipedream. His power is real, His strength is real and His intentions for our nation are very real. He said whatever is loosed in heaven is loosed here on earth. So Lord, we release all of your provisions from heaven into the earth. Lord, have your way with our nation as we fall on our face with prayers of repentance.

We ask you, Lord, for Your tender mercy and heal our land. Lord, we confess our sin. We’ve sinned by being apathetic. We sinned by pursuing happiness above pursuing You. But God, we are turning back to You with our whole hearts in these final days. We ask that You receive us as a sacrifice that would be pleasing to You. We ask that You will look down on our land and help us to fulfill those words: One Nation. Under God. Indivisible. With Liberty and Justice for All.  In the name of Jesus, we ask for this. Amen.

The Lord Will Replenish Your Weary Soul

October 2, 2020 - Fireside Chat - LISTEN HERE

Jeremiah 31:25For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 - There is a season for everything and a time for every event under heaven

They say that confession is good for the soul, and I’m here to admit that I’m really worn out.

As most of you know, I’ve been working non-stop, day and night, since March 10, with barely even a half-day off.

I have to remind myself – and those around me – I’m 62.5 years of age. And I can't ride the pony as hard as when I was 42yo.

This week, with the opening of the Boot Camp course, I knew something had to change.

I’ve prayed about it... I’ve feel that God is calling me to take better care of me...and not try to meet all expectations. I need the time  *right now* for current responsibilities.

I feel this is what He wants me to do:  For the next 8 weeks, the schedule for Happy Hour is going to change.
  • Tuesday – guest
  • Thursday – Revisited content
  • Friday – maybe a new lesson...or a new way to get to know people in our study group
I hope you continue to take the time out every night at 6p to have your own Happy Hour on your own, or with forming your own group.

Today’s Prayer:
Dear Lord, guide us to a place of stillness so we may know and feel that our strength and replenishment comes from God. When we trust God hears our prayers, we will not be shaken. Lord, Your Word gives us so many assurances that You will never leave us, never abandon us. You will always give us strength so that we can never be shaken.

We are grateful for Your presence and Your Greatness, Lord. Please hear our voices as we cry out to You for our personal safety, for our country, for our world. We pray for the presidents’ health and stamina. Twerr6tAs we make our petitions know, Thy Will Be done...and in all things, we pray in Jesus’s name. Amen.
